This Indenture made this Twentieth day of December 1797 between Peter McLaughlin of the County & State above written of the one part & Thomas D. McLaughlin of the same County and State of the other part. Witnesseth that the sd Peter McLaughlin for and in consideration of the love and goodwill and affection which I have and do bear unto my loving son Thomas D. McLaughlin have given and granted & by these presents do freely give & grant unto the sd Thomas D. McLaughlin his heirs Executors or Administrators the following property: (unreadable word - maybe Viz?) three feather beds & furniture, three horses, one cow & calf & twenty two barrels of corn to have and to hold the sd property henceforth as his or his heirs or assigns forever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the date day and year above written.
