Obituary of William Jefferson Watson
William J. (Uncle Bud) Watson, 87, died at his home in Jay Sunday morning after a long illness.
A native of Hartford, Ala., Mr. Watson moved to Santa Rosa County in 1924. He was a member of the Concord Baptist Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Oliver, Curtis, Tom and Woodrow, all of Jay; eight daughters, Mrs. Essie Holloway, Mrs. Agnes Freeman, and Mrs. Velva Freeman, all of Jay. Mrs. J. E. Gaunett of Atlanta, Mrs. Ruth Hutson of Gainesville, Mrs. Ida Albritton, Mrs. Ada Giddens[sic] and Miss Virginia Watson, all of Pensacola; 39 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Concord Baptist Church at 11 a. m. Monday with the Rev. C. G. Myers officiating. The following grandsons will serve as pallbearers:
Active: William watson, Shelby Albritton, Shella Albritton, Quinn Holloway, Earl Holloway, and James Freeman. Honorary: E. G. Nall, Emmett Weekes, W. L. Smith, J. E. Freeman, O. C. Broxton, S. R. Joyner, W. J. Hughes, Levander Shell, W. A. Henderson, Jim Shiver, Kyle Branch, and Odell Enfinger.
