Obituary of Mary Ann Embry Powell
Octogenarian is Called to Rest.
After an illness of about three weeks with the infirmities incident to old age, three weeks with infirmation due to old age, Mrs. Mary Ann Powell died at the home of her son, T. J. Powell, near Danburg, Tuesday evening in the 82nd year of her life.
Mrs. Powell's life was one of usefulness and uprighteousness and her devotion and loyality to the demands of the home and church will always be a shining mark to be looked up to and followed by the sorrowing members of her immediate family as well as a wide circle of intimate friends who have known and loved her thoughout a goodly portion of her long life of more than four score years.
Surviving her are four children, Mrs. A. S. Lindsey, Floral Hill with whom she has made her home for a number of years, Mrs. N. J. Brantley of Sparta, Sons, Mr. W. N. Powell and Mr. T. J. Powell, all of near Danburg. The interment occurred Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Fishing Creek church, the services being conducted by Rev. H. M.
