Obituary of Horace Lee Powell, Sr.
SOPERTON - Horace Lee Powell Sr., 81, died Dec. 5.
The native of Emanuel County was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Philippines. He was retired and was a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church in Treutlen County.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Pernette Morris Powell; a son and daughter-in-law, Horace Lee Jr. and Priscilla Powell of Missouri; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Katie Hummel of Atlanta, Vivien and Robert McMahon of Boone, N.C., Robin and Don Lawhon of Soperton and Mary Jane and Scott Christopher of Atlanta; two sisters, Ruth Price of South Carolina and Barbara Veal of Wrightsville; a brother, Robert Powell of Newport News, Va.; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Sammons Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Friday at Sammons Funeral Home, burial in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery near Soperton.
