Nealie Powell Wilson, 96, formerly of Wilson Road, Anderson, died
Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at NHC HealthCare of Anderson.
Born in Danburg [sic (,Wilkes)] County, she was retired from J.P. StevensCompany,
Appleton Plant, with 49 years of service. She was a member of Salem
Baptist Church, where she was a member of the mother's Sunday school
class and a former teacher of the beginners Sunday school class.
Surviving are son, John L. Wilson of Anderson; daughter, Princecilla
Wilson Williams of Anderson; sister, Mazelle Powell Wilson of Anderson;
seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five
great-great-grandchildren.
She was the widow of Adolph Wilson and the daughter of the late
William T. Powell and Alice Andrews Powell. She was preceded in death
by four brothers, William M. Powell, Robert Powell, Thomas A. Powell and
Walker [sic (Walter)] E. Powell; and a sister, Susie Belle Powell.
Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Salem Baptist Church
cemetery, Anderson, by the Rev. John M. Daniel. The body is at The
McDougald Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to
8 p.m. Tuesday.
The family will be at the home of her son, John L. Wilson, 200 Lancaster
Drive, Anderson, and the home of her daughter, Princecilla Williams,
1602 Gerrard Road, Anderson.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society,
600 N. Main St., Suite 2, Greer, S.C. 29650.

SYLVA, N.C. - Ida Mayzelle P. Wilson, 97, of Mt. Trace Nursing Home, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004 at Mt. Trace Nursing Home, Sylva, N.C.
Born in Georgia, she retired from Appleton Mill [in Anderson], where she was a weaver. She was also a member of Oakwood Baptist Church [in Anderson]. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are sons, Douglas Wilson of Perry, Ga., W. Connie Wilson of Anderson, S.C. and Gary Wilson of Jonesboro, Ga.; daughter, Terri W. Aldridge of Whittier, Ga. [N.C. not Ga.]; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was the widow of Curry Lee Wilson and the daughter of the late William T. Powell and Alice Andrews Powell. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sarah W. Osborne and Sybil Lee W. Griffith; five brothers, William F., Walter, William M., Robert, and Albert Powell; and two sisters, Nealie P. Wilson and Susie Belle Powell.
Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel, Anderson, by the Rev. John M. Daniel; burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Monday.
