Individual Note: Enoch Grubbs Sr. joined the South Carolina Militia during the Revolutionary
War. He served under Captains Anderson, Thomas, and Liles and participated
in the Battle at Four Holes in November 1781. Four Holes is a branch of the
Edisto River in south central South Carolina. The records indicated that
Enoch Grubbs provided oats for the Calvary under Colonel Washington during
the Revolution. There was also some implication in the records that he may
have participated in the battle at Cowpens.
Two abstracts from South Carolina land deals involving Enoch Grubbs were
located and are documented as follows:

Individual Note: Thomas Powell [Parents] was born about 1600 in Powellton, Suffolk, England. He died on 9 Feb 1686/1687 in Isle of Wight Co, VA. He married Gody (Powell) about 1625.
Thomas was a frequent traveler between England and America before he finally decided to stay here for awhile, perhaps disposing of property at home first.
Residences & events in Thomas' life:
His will was dated 7/12/1683 and recorded 2/9/1687. In it he named legatees: Sons, Thomas, Nathaniel, William, John; daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Powell and Lucretia Corbett; Lucinda, Elizabeth, and Roberta; with son, William, and his wife, Elizabeth as executors. There was no mention of Thomas' wife so apparently she predeceased him.
Half of Thomas' land was bequeathed to Thomas, Nathaniel, William, and John with the stipulation that they not sell it except to each other. The other half of the land went to son, William. From this some have concluded the first 4 named were actually grandsons, children of deceased son, Nathaniel, rather than his own children. I prefer to believe they were sons as stated.
They had the following children:
M i Nathaniel Powell died in 1677/1678.
M ii William POWELL was born in 1620/1630. He died about 1696.
F iii Lucinda Powell was born about 1632.
F iv Elizabeth Powell was born about 1634.
F v Roberta Powell was born about 1636.
M vi Thomas Sr POWELL was born in 1630/1640. He died on 20 Mar 1701.
