Individual Note: Emma was the Acting First Lady of Georgia in from November 1882 to March 1883 during the administration of the Honorable Alexander H. Stephens.
Governor Stephens, of Georgia, who was inaugurated yesterday, in answer to a letter of inquiry addressed him by a lady friend here, wrote last week that he was in his usualy health, and that the wife of his nephew, Mr. John A. Stephens, would preside for him at the Governor's mansion, and that two other nieces, who are attendind school in Atlanta, will make their home with him also, so he can dispense hospitality as he has always done to ladies as well as gentlemen.

Individual Note: WASHINGTON, Ga. - Mrs. Peggy Powell Moore, 74, of Walnut St., died Tuesday evening at Wills Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Moore was a native of Wilkes County, and had been a registered nurse at Wills Memorial Hospital for a number of years. She also had been a Health Occupations teacher at Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School for 17 years. She was the wife of the late G. W. Moore, and was a member of the Washington First Baptist Church. Graveside services will be Friday morning at 11:00 at Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Albert Huyck officiating. She is survived by two sons, G.W. "Chuck" Moore, Jr., and wife Linda, of Watkinsville, and David Moore, and wife Liz, of Thomson; one sister, Eleanor Andrews, of Sparta; and three grandchildren, Daniel Moore, Kirk Lovett, and Thomas Moore. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7-9 PM at Hopkins Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer Bapti st church, or to the Washington First Baptist Church.
