Individual Note: Thomas Giddens was a Revolutionary War soldier. He moved to BullochCounty, Georgia from North Carolina about 1810. Then moved to TatnallCounty when he drew land in 1820 as a Revolutionary Soldier (Knight'sRoster, page 383).

Individual Note: Horace enlisted in the United States Army on August 14, 1940 (ASN 14011549) at Ft. Screven, Georgia. His Alpha designation was QMC (Quartermaster Corps) and his term of enlistment was "Enlistment for the Panama Canal Department." His residence was listed as Treutlen County, Georgia and year of birth 1919. He received an honorable discharge on 28 Nov 1945.

SOPERTON - Horace Lee Powell Sr., 81, died Dec. 5.
The native of Emanuel County was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Philippines. He was retired and was a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church in Treutlen County.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Pernette Morris Powell; a son and daughter-in-law, Horace Lee Jr. and Priscilla Powell of Missouri; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Katie Hummel of Atlanta, Vivien and Robert McMahon of Boone, N.C., Robin and Don Lawhon of Soperton and Mary Jane and Scott Christopher of Atlanta; two sisters, Ruth Price of South Carolina and Barbara Veal of Wrightsville; a brother, Robert Powell of Newport News, Va.; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Sammons Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Friday at Sammons Funeral Home, burial in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery near Soperton.

Kenneth Lee Robinson, 36, a native and life long
resident of Pensacola, passed from this life on
10/31/00 while vacationing with his family in Atlanta,
GA.
Kenneth was born on 10/12/64 and attended
Escambia County Schools, graduating from PHS in
1982. An avid fisherman, Kenneth could always be found fishing
the local waters at his favorite spot, the Ft. Pickens Pier, where he
passed countless hours and found great peace communing with
nature and the Creator. Kenneth will be greatly missed by family
and friends who take comfort in knowing he professed faith in
Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Jean Robinson.
Survivors include his wife, Tammie; son, Dillon; father, Ronald
Robinson and his wife, Cecile; three sisters, Christy (Roger)
Lassitter, Tracy (Randy) Miller; and Robin Hamilton; beloved
nephews and nieces, Joshua and Jessica Lassitter, Shane Hamilton
and Bryce Miller, Devan and Dustin Kervin, Shadrach and Jared
Jones.
Funeral services will be 10 am, Saturday, November 4, 2000 at
Faith Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Barrow officiating
and assisted by Pastor Greg Lancaster.
Burial will be in Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Mark Housman, Jimmy Reaves, Henry
Johnson, Bubba Johnson, John Phillips and Vince Raybon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roger and Josh Lassitter, John
Quina, Alfred Jackson, David Winters, David Zeil and Jimmy
McGraw.
FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 100 Beverly Pkwy, is in
charge of arrangements.
Friends may call at Faith Chapel from 5 to 8 pm, Friday.
