     Enlisted in the 24th Alabama Regiment, Co. "A," (Hood's Army) CSA, inAugust 1862, and was discharged on May 5, 1865.

WAR PENSION APPLICATION

THE STATE OF ALABAMA, Chambers County: To the Honorable Board of PensionExaminers for said County: your petitioner, A. Gullatt, respectfullyrepresents to your Honorable Board that he is a resident of ChambersCounty, in the state of Alabama, and that he resided in said State onthe first day of January in the year 1899. That he enlisted in theservice of the State, or Confederate States as a private in Company "A"in the 24th Regiment on _______ of August 1862 at Camp Watts in the Stateof Alabama, and that he was honorably discharged from such service on the5th day of May 1865, that he did not desert the service of theConfederate States, or of the State of Alabama; that he was woundedin the battle of ______(not wounded) in the state of ________; that he isnow unable to make a living by Manuel labor on account of old age andafflictions; that he is at the time of this application 66 years of age,and that his post office is West Point, Ga., Alabama; that he does notown property either in his own name; nor that of his wife, to the valueof ($400) four hundred dollars; that his annual income does not exceed($400) four hundred dollars, and that he has no children upon whom he candepend for support. Your petitioner files herewith a complete scheduleof all the property owned by himself and his wife. In consideration ofthe foregoing facts, your petitioner asks that his name be placed uponthe pension rolls, in the class that your honorable Board may adjudge himto belong, that he may participate in the division of the fund providedfor the relief of Confederate and Alabama soldiers and their widows bythe act of the General Assembly approved February 10-1899.
