James Carl Giddeon
1931-2006
James Carl Giddeon, age 74 of Pensacola, passed away March 17, 2006 in Pensacola after a brief illness.
Carl was born on March 27, 1931 in Youngstown, FL to William Patrick and Ada Viola Giddeon.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Tonda Giddeon Dubose and husband, Jimmy; loving son, James Carl Giddeon, Jr.; adopted daughter, Dawn Giddeon; a sister, Lois Hemmer and brother, Kenneth Ray Giddeon and wife, Barbara; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn his passing, his dear friends, Bobbi Thomas, Hue Ti Walker, Lamar Potts, Glenn and Vi Jennings and all his friends at Jim's Fish Camp in Pace, FL.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Vickie Carlene; a sister, Jeanette Manwell and two brothers, Preston and Wayne Giddeon.
Carl's devotion to his family was absolutely complete. He was always there for them and for anyone who needed his help. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. He enjoyed dancing, loved to work in his garden and cook and was an avid fisherman.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 20, 2006 at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Clifford McGraw officiating.
Family visitation will be on Sunday, March 19, 2006 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. From 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., the family will receive friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and medical staff of Sacred Heart Hospital for their loving and wonderful care.
Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Individual Note: COLUMBUS PERRY GIDDIENS
Columbus Perry Giddiens (March 8, 1860 - November, 1953) was born near Dothan, Alabama the son of John and Millie Simpson Giddiens. He came to Texas in 1883 and settled in the Bailey (Fannin Co.) community. He was married to Esther Louisa Turner (August 17, 1870 - July 24, 1939) on January 6, 1890.
