Individual Note: April Court 1784: In obedience to an order of the worshipful court ofFairfaxCo., we the subscribers being first duly sworn have valued andappraised all the estate of Peter Gullatt deceased that hath beenpresented to our view viz., this 13th day of January 1785.
One set of blacksmith tools, 8 pounds (English currency).
One linen spinning wheel, one shilling, six pence.
A parcel of old pewter, 8 shillings.
One woolen wheel, 3 shillings.
One pot, 7 shillings.
One dutch oven, 6 shillings.
Three pails, 4 shillings & six pence.
One chest of drawers, 1 pound & 10 shillings.
One old chest, 5 shillings.
One Table, 7 shillings.
One tea pot, 2 shillings.
One bed and furniture, 4 pounds and 10 shillings.

Individual Note: LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF CHARLES THIRFT
In the name of God Amen. I Charles Thrift Sr., of Fairfax County andState of Virginia being weak in body but of perfect mind and memorythanks be unto God, and knowing it is appointed for all men once to diedo make and ordain this my last will and testament and as touching suchworldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life Igive and devise and dispose of the same in the following manner andform.
First, I give and bequeath to my son Charles Thrift that whole parcel ortract of land whereon he now lives to him and his heirs and assignsforever also a negro man named Prince.
Item, I give and bequeath to my son William Thrift that whole parcel ortract of land whereon he now liveth except one third part to be taken outfor Henry Jenkins so that it may not injure said William Thrift'splantation also a negro man named David to him and his heirs and assignsforever.
Item, I give and bequeath to my son Hamilton Thrift this tract of landwhereon I now live and the lot of land I now hold of Carter(?) to himand his heirs and assigns forever also a negro man named Ned and a negrowoman named Sarah.
Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Rachel Gullatt one negro womannamed Frances and all her increase that is with her at this present timeand her increase hereafter only one negro girl named Easter which I giveto my grandson Peter Gullatt her and her increase to him and his heirsand assigns forever.
Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Jenkins one negro girlnamed Celia and a negro girl named Alley and their increase to her andher heirs and assigns forever.
Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann Scott a negro woman namedPriscilla and all her increase to her and her heirs and assigns forever.
Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Ally Offutt one negro girl namedMarara (Mavava?) and all her increase to her and her heirs and assignsforever.
Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Rebecca Ellgin one negro namedBetty, one negro boy named Jacob to her and her heirs and assignsforever. Item, I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Rebecca Gullattone negro boy named Ned to her and her heirs and assigns forever.
Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Hannah Thrift a negro girl namedCelia and a negro boy named Dennis to her and her heirs and assignsforever.
Item, I give to my son Hamilton Thrift the still.
Item, I give and bequeath to my son Hamilton Thrift and my daughterHannah Thrift all the household furniture and half the stock to beequally divided between them. The rest of the estate both real andpersonal I leave to be equally divided between my son Charles Thrift,Thrift, Hamilton Thrift, Hannah Thrift, Elizabeth Jenkins, Ann Scott,Ally Offutt, and Rebecca Elgin, after all my just debts are paid.
Lastly, I constitute and appoint my sons Charles Thrift, William Thrift,and Hamilton Thrift executors of this my last will and testament and I dohereby utterly disavow revoke and disannul all and every other formertestaments wills and legacies bequests and executors by me in any waysbefore named willed & bequeathed ratifying and confirming this & no otherto be may last will and testament. In witness thereof I have hereuntoset my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of October in the year of ourLord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight.
